A Message from the Chairman Of the NYSSA Executive Committee

Rensselaer County Sheriff Jack Mahar, President of the Sheriffs' Association, made the presentation in recognition of Sheriff Tabolt's outstanding 36 years of service to his community as a law-enforcement professional, eight of them as sheriff, and his dedication to advancing the mission of the Sheriffs' Association.
Many representatives of the Sheriffs' Association traveled with Sheriff Mahar to Lowville to honor Sheriff Tabolt. Among them: Sheriffs Phil Povero, Chris Farber, Kevin Wells, Moe Todd, Barry Virts, Ron Spike, Gary Maha and John Burns; retired St. Lawrence County Sheriff Gary Jarvis, Undersheriff-designate Jim Monnat, Sheriffs' Association Executive Director Peter Kehoe, Association Counsel Tom Mitchell, Institute Executive Director Chris O'Brien, and VINE Project Director Ed Wutzer.
