Niagara County Sheriff James Voutour Receives Chairman's Award from the GTSC

Niagara County Sheriff James Voutour received the Chairman's Award from the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee in recognition of the success of the Niagara County Traffic Safety Fair which is sponsored by the Sheriff's Office each year.

 

The Chairman's Award recognizes innovative programs that are highly successful in promoting traffic safety. The awards are presented annually at the New York State Highway Safety Conference.

 

The Niagara County Traffic Safety Fair invites junior and senior high school students from Niagara and other surrounding counties to a full day of traffic safety training. During the course of the day, students are exposed to a variety of topics, including occupant protection, driving under the influence, work zone safety and distracted driving. The Fair runs for eight days and is attended by over 3,000 high school students from over 30 high schools.
