Education/Training: Sheriff DeMarco earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from St. John’s University in 1991. 


Career: Sheriff Vincent DeMarco began his distinguished career as a Suffolk County Deputy Sheriff in 1994. He was elected Sheriff in November of 2005. On January 1, 2006, Sheriff DeMarco was sworn in to office, becoming the first uniformed member of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office to be elected Sheriff. 


Honors and Achievements: While serving as a Deputy Sheriff, Sheriff DeMarco was recognized for his commitment to law enforcement multiple times, including being honored for making the most arrests in a year.


Sheriff’s Office: The innovative use of technology has been a hallmark of Sheriff DeMarco’s tenure and the results have been impressive.  Technological improvements and policy initiatives have made Suffolk County roadways safer, while saving the county’s taxpayers millions of dollars since he took office in 2006. 


Personal: Sheriff Vincent DeMarco is a lifelong resident of Suffolk County. He is married and the father of two children.
